Gua Sha Stones Wholesale: Sourcing Natural Stone at Volume

Sourcing natural stone gua sha at wholesale volume: how stone batches differ, what A/AA grades mean, choosing between jade, bian stone and quartz, and planning consistent supply.

Natural rose quartz raw stone graded for production
Natural stone is what most buyers picture when they think of gua sha - and at wholesale volume it is the material with the most variation to manage. Every stone has its own grain, colour range and hardness, so sourcing at volume is about choosing the right stone, understanding what a normal batch looks like, and setting expectations with your own customers before the first shipment.

The Stones We Run at Volume

Batch character is set by the block chosen - colour and grain vary by nature.

Bian stone is the darkest and densest option, traditionally used for scraping. It forms without a mould, which makes it our lowest-minimum custom shape material - custom bian stone shapes start at 200 pieces. Colours run from deep black to blue-grey with natural mineral variation.
Xiuyan jade covers the green through white range and is the classic gua sha stone for facial tools and combs. Available in large quantities for stock shapes and sets.
Rose quartz, amethyst, obsidian and specialty stones are sold by colour story and work best for set building and gift collections. Each has its own price band and availability cycle - worth confirming per project.
Terahertz, opal and treated-look stones serve buyers who want a modern, uniform look. These are manufactured materials with consistent colouring, so batch variation is minimal.

What Natural Variation Means for a Wholesale Order

A stone order is not a paint colour. Within a single production batch you should expect:
  • Grain and veining that differ piece to piece - this is inherent to the material.
  • A colour range within the agreed name (for example, jade green runs from pale to deep).
  • Minor weight differences of a few grammes across pieces of the same size.
  • Surface character - some stones take a higher polish than others.
This variation is why wholesale buyers approve a physical sample and sign a limit sample: the signed piece defines the acceptable range for the whole order, so "natural" never becomes an argument after delivery.

Grades and How Buyers Use Them

Stone is commonly offered in A, AA and AAA bands. In practice the letters describe how tightly the batch is sorted, not different stone:
  • A - natural range, normal sorting, the best value for high-volume programmes and unbranded stock.
  • AA - tighter colour and pattern selection, typical for branded retail lines.
  • AAA - hand-sorted for consistency, used for premium gift sets and photography.
At volume, most programmes run A or AA and reserve AAA for hero products or PR shots. Ask for the grade definitions against your market before quoting - the letters mean different things between suppliers.

Planning Consistent Supply

Xiuyan jade covers the green-to-white range used for facial tools.

  1. Specify by name and reference - use the exact stone name and a sample photo with your order, not a colour description.
  1. Order samples from the actual production batch before committing.
  1. Sign the limit sample - both sides keep a copy.
  1. Plan the repeat calendar - stone batches take 25-30 days in production, so schedule orders before you sell out.
  1. Keep the same specification on file - a reorder is placed against the file, not re-specified from scratch.

Custom Shapes in Stone

Stone can be cut to any profile without a steel mould, which is why custom stone shapes carry the lowest tooling barrier of any material we run: bian stone custom shapes start at 200 pieces, other stone at 500. Send a dimensioned drawing or physical sample to measure, and tooling - where a cutter guide is needed - is confirmed against the specification.

Natural Stone Wholesale FAQ

Why do my pieces look slightly different from the photo? Natural stone varies by nature - grain, colour depth and veining differ between pieces and batches. The signed limit sample defines the agreed range for your order. Manufactured stones like terahertz have minimal variation if consistency is your priority.
Which stone should we choose for our brand? Bian stone for the classic scraping story and the lowest custom-shape minimum; xiuyan jade for facial tools and combs; specialty stones for gift sets and colour ranges. Most brands run two or three across a collection.
Can you supply the same stone over repeat orders? Yes. We keep your specification, sample reference and production notes on file, and schedule repeats against your calendar. Stone colour drift between distant batches is managed by holding the last approved sample as the reference.
