Custom Logo on Stainless Steel Gua Sha: Laser, Etch, Print

How custom logos are applied to stainless steel gua sha tools: laser engraving, deep etch, stamping, pad printing and colour fill, with artwork and placement advice.

Custom Logo on Stainless Steel Gua Sha: Laser, Etch, Print
A logo on a stainless steel tool is a permanent decision. Unlike packaging, it cannot be reprinted, and unlike a printed mark it sits in the same surface the customer touches.
This guide explains the marking methods we run, how each one actually looks on polished steel, and how to brief an artwork so the result matches what you expect.

1. Why Steel Behaves Differently From Other Materials

On stone, a logo is usually a contrast difference between the mark and the base material. On polished steel, a laser mark is a tonal shift rather than a printed colour.
That is normal and it is what a premium finish looks like. The mark is real and permanent, it simply expresses itself as a change in reflectivity rather than as ink.
If you need a hard-contrast logo on polished steel, specify colour fill and expect a deeper engraving. Do not expect a printed look from a laser pass.

2. Laser Engraving

Laser engraving is our default method. A focused beam removes or alters a thin layer of the surface, leaving a mark that is part of the metal rather than attached to it.
It holds the finest detail of any method we run, which makes it the right choice for a wordmark, a fine monogram or line art.
Depth is adjustable. A shallow pass gives a subtle tonal mark, a deeper pass gives more contrast. Both are permanent.

3. Deep Etch and Stamping

A deep etch is a heavier version of engraving, used where the mark needs more presence or where a colour fill will be added.
Stamping presses the mark into the metal using a die. It is permanent and gives a crisp debossed edge, and it suits repeat programmes where the die cost is spread across volume.

4. Pad Printing and Colour Fill

Pad printing lays ink on the surface. It is the only method that reproduces full colour, and it is the least durable on a tool that gets washed.
Colour fill goes further: the mark is engraved first, then ink or enamel is worked into the recess. That combination is durable because the colour is protected by the recess walls.

5. Placement and Approval

Placement is the detail that drifts between suppliers. A mark that sits two millimetres closer to the edge on one batch is the kind of inconsistency a retail buyer notices on a shelf.
We set placement against an approved marked sample. The sample is the reference, and it is kept on file for the production run.

6. Artwork Requirements

Send vector artwork where possible, with the mark sized in millimetres and its position referenced to the tool edge. If the artwork is raster, send the highest resolution available.
For very fine detail, be aware that mark quality depends on the tool geometry. A logo placed across a tightly curved area will not hold the same sharpness as the same logo on a flat face.
Ask for a marked sample before production. It is far cheaper to correct placement and depth on a sample than on a finished batch.

7. Working With Us

Alison Gua Sha Factory runs laser engraving, deep etching, stamping and pad printing in house, with a marked sample approved before every production run.
Send your artwork and the tool shape you have in mind, and we will tell you which method will reproduce it best on that surface.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my logo look darker or lighter than expected?

A laser mark on polished steel reads as a tonal change rather than ink. Depth controls contrast, so we tune the pass to your artwork on a marked sample.

Can you match a Pantone colour in a logo?

Only with colour fill or pad printing. Laser engraving itself has no colour, it changes the surface tone.

Is the laser mark permanent?

Yes. The mark is part of the metal surface and does not wash off or fade in normal use.

What artwork format do you need?

Vector is preferred. If you only have raster, send the highest resolution available.

Can you place the logo on both sides?

Yes. Some buyers mark one face with the logo and the other with a care or brand line.

Will the mark be sharp on a curved surface?

Sharpness depends on the geometry. A logo across a tight curve will not hold the same detail as one on a flat face, and we will say so before production.

Do you charge for the sample marking?

Sampling arrangements are confirmed with your project specification, along with quantity, lead time and shipping.

Can we change the logo between batches?

Yes. Each production run is set against its own approved marked sample, so artwork can be revised between runs.
