Stainless Steel Gua Sha Shapes and Sizes: B2B Catalogue Guide

Stainless steel gua sha shape families, the dimensions that matter, custom profile routes and tooling, thickness and hand feel, and how to specify a shape.

Stainless Steel Gua Sha Shapes and Sizes: B2B Catalogue Guide
Shape is the most visible part of a stainless steel gua sha specification and the part buyers describe least precisely. Two tools with the same name can differ by a few millimetres of edge radius and feel completely different in the hand.
This guide covers the standard shape families we manufacture, how they are dimensioned, and how to specify a custom profile without wasting a tooling cycle.

1. The Shape Families

Most of the market sits in a small number of families. Knowing the family tells you what the tool is for and how it will be finished.

2. Why Dimensions Matter More Than Names

A shape name is a shorthand, not a specification. Two suppliers can both offer a heart and cut it at different lengths, widths and radii.
The dimensions that matter commercially are overall length, overall width, thickness, and the radius of the contact edge. Everything else is presentation.

3. Standard Profiles We Manufacture

We run a broad library of existing profiles, which means most buyers can start from a shape that already has tooling rather than commissioning a new mould.
Starting from an existing profile keeps the development cycle short and the tooling requirement low.

4. Custom Shapes and What They Require

Anything outside our existing shape library is a custom shape. That covers both a brand-new contour and a stock profile whose length, width, angle or edge radius has been changed.
A custom shape needs a mould, and that is the whole reason the minimum moves. A stock shape is cut on tooling we already own. A custom shape has to be cut on tooling made for you.
The custom-shape minimum is 1,000 to 3,000 pieces. The exact figure depends on the geometry, the material, and how many sizes you want from the same mould.
The mould carries its own cost, which forms part of the project quotation rather than being folded into the piece count. We confirm it against the drawing and the material before anything is cut.

5. Thickness, Weight and Hand Feel

Thickness is the quiet variable. A thicker blank feels more substantial but needs more edge work to reach a comfortable radius, and it changes how the tool balances in the hand.
For facial tools, a lighter feel is usually preferred because the pressure comes from the user rather than the tool. For body and fascial tools, a heavier feel is often the point.

6. Sets and Mixed Orders

Many brands sell a set rather than a single tool. Sets are assembled from the same shape library and packed together, which keeps finishing and inspection consistent across the pieces.

7. How to Specify a Shape

Send the family, the dimensions, the thickness and the required edge radius. If you have a reference sample, send it. If you have a drawing, send it, and ask for a tolerance statement back.
For a custom shape we need a CAD file or a dimensioned technical drawing: overall length, width, thickness, edge radius and any critical angles.
A generated image, a sketch or a rendering is not enough on its own. Those show how the tool looks but carry no technical parameters, so there is nothing to cut to and no tolerance can be stated against them.
If an image is all you have, we will work with you to turn it into a dimensioned drawing before tooling begins. That step protects both sides: the drawing is what the mould is cut from.

8. Working With Us

Alison Gua Sha Factory manufactures the shape families above, from a stock profile with your laser logo up to a fully custom shape, with a dimensioned drawing supplied for approval before production.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you match a shape we already sell?

Yes, but if the geometry differs from our library it is a custom shape, so it needs a mould and starts from 1,000 to 3,000 pieces. Send a CAD file, a dimensioned drawing or a physical sample we can measure.

What is the minimum quantity for a custom shape?

1,000 to 3,000 pieces, because a custom shape needs a mould. The exact figure depends on the geometry, the material and how many sizes come off the same mould. A stock shape with your laser logo starts from 200 pieces per shape.

What do you need to tool a custom shape?

A CAD file or a dimensioned technical drawing with overall length, width, thickness, edge radius and any critical angles, or a physical sample we can measure. A generated image or sketch alone is not enough, because it carries no technical parameters.

How long does a new shape take?

It depends on mould making, then finishing. We confirm the schedule stage by stage after the drawing is approved.

Can I get a drawing before ordering?

Yes. We supply a dimensioned drawing for approval, including the edge radius, before production begins.

Do thickness options exist for every shape?

Most shapes run in more than one thickness. Some fine profiles are limited because a thicker blank cannot reach the required radius.

Can shapes be mixed in one order?

Yes. Most orders combine several profiles, and sets are assembled from the same library.

Do you offer both mirror and satin on all shapes?

Most shapes support both. Very tight interior curves can limit the achievable mirror quality, and we will say so before production.

Can you produce a left and right version of a directional tool?

Yes, where the geometry is handed we produce both versions and mark them so they are not mixed at packing.
